Mongolian visa

General Information for Visa

The Visa Section will be closed on the following Mongolian public holidays.
1 January (New year)
1-3 days of the Lunar Calendar New year (varies but commonly either in January or February)
8 March (International Women’s Day)
1 June (Children’s Day)
11-15 July (Naadam Festival-National Day)
29 December (Independence Day)
1st day of winter month of Lunar Calendar, Chingis Khaan’s commemoration day (October or November)
Note: Due to its geographical location and altitude, Mongolian Lunar Calendar days may slightly differ from that of the other Asian countries’.

The following documents are required to apply for a Mongolian visa and they must be either in Mongolian or English language:

Tourist Visa with single entry for up to 30 days
Applicant is required to submit:
Passport-with a validity exceeding the applicant’s last day of stay by six months
Visa Application Form- fully completed, signed and dated
Photo-most recent passport size one glued on the form
Supporting Documents-Travel itinerary, hotel reservation and insurance confirmation
Visa fee and Service charge*

Business/Official Visas with single/multiple entries
Applicant is required to submit:
Passport-with a validity exceeding the applicant’s last day of stay by six months
Visa Application Form- fully completed, signed and dated
Photo-the most recent passport size one glued on the form
Supporting Documents-the invitation of the host approved by either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia or Immigration Authority of Mongolia. The travel itinerary, hotel reservation and insurance confirmation are appreciable
Visa fee and Service charge*

Transit Visa
Applicant is required to submit:
Passport-with a validity exceeding the applicant’s last day of stay by six months
Visa Application Form- fully completed, signed and dated
Photo-most recent passport size one glued on the form
Supporting Documents-visa of the destination country. The travel itinerary is appreciable
Visa fee and Service charge*

For the applicants’ convenience, we accept applications submitted by:
1) Applicant him/herself
2) Person authorized to do so by the applicant’s own authorization letter
3) Embassy’s approved visa agencies such as Real Russia (http://realrussia.co.uk) and Almont (http://www.almonttravel.co.uk)
4) The Embassy does not have provisions to process visa applications sent by post.

* Please note that we do not accept a cheque, credit/debit card or cash for the Visa fee and Service charge. You have to pay or make a bank transfer to Embassy’s bank account.
If you have already paid or transferred, bring the bank receipt or printed internet transfer receipt as the confirmation.

Otherwise, the applicant shall be given a pay slip when he/she lodges the visa application and asked to make the payment at the HSBC bank located in a walking distance from the Embassy and provide the receipt to the Visa Officer to start the visa issuing process.
